Sheet Solver — Privacy Policy

Sheet Solver is an add-on for Google Sheets that adds Solver and Goal Seek. It is made by AddonNordic ApS, Solvangen 15, 9210 Aalborg SØ, Denmark, CVR 46495985 ("we"). This policy explains what the add-on can see and what happens to your data. For our website and our other products, see our main Privacy Policy.

What Sheet Solver can access

When you install Sheet Solver, Google asks you to allow two things:

  • See and edit the spreadsheet you have open (spreadsheets.currentonly). Sheet Solver reads the cells in your model and writes the answer back. It cannot open any other file.
  • Show a sidebar and a menu in Google Sheets (script.container.ui), for the Solver and Goal Seek panel.

Sheet Solver does not ask for access to your Google Drive, Gmail, contacts or other spreadsheets.

What happens to your data

  • Your spreadsheet data stays with you and Google. The cells in your model are read by the add-on's code running in Google's Apps Script service and in your own browser, and the solving happens in your browser. We do not receive, store or see the contents of your spreadsheets.
  • Your models (which cell is the goal, which cells may change, and your limits) are saved inside the spreadsheet itself, as hidden information on the tab. They are deleted when you delete the tab or the file.
  • Your plan (Free or Pro, and how many free Pro tries you used this month) is stored in your own Google account's private add-on storage. We cannot read it.
  • Solver engine. The sidebar downloads the open-source HiGHS solver program from the jsDelivr network (cdn.jsdelivr.net). This is a download of program code only; no spreadsheet data is sent.

If you buy Pro

  • Payment is handled by Stripe through Stripe's Managed Payments (Link), which sells Pro to you as the merchant of record and handles VAT. Stripe collects your email, payment details and billing address and sends you receipts. We receive your email, country, the plan you bought and its status. Stripe's privacy policy: stripe.com/privacy.
  • Licence check. When you activate or renew Pro, the sidebar sends only your licence key to our licence server (hosted by Railway in the EU West region). The server asks Stripe whether that subscription is active and returns a signed confirmation. No spreadsheet data and no Google account data is sent. Our hosting provider keeps standard request logs (time, IP address, page requested) for up to 30 days.
  • Legal basis: performing our contract with you (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)) and our legal duty to keep accounting records (art. 6(1)(c); Danish Bookkeeping Act: 5 years).

What we never do

We do not sell or share your data, we do not use it for advertising, no person at AddonNordic sees your spreadsheets, and we do not use Google user data to train AI models. Sheet Solver's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Who we share data with

We share Google user data with no one. Sheet Solver does not send your spreadsheet contents, your models or your Google account details to our servers or to anyone else; they stay in your Google account and your browser. If you buy Pro, Stripe receives the details you type into its checkout page, and our licence server receives your licence key. The companies below process data only to run Sheet Solver for you:

  • Google (Apps Script, Google Sheets): runs the add-on in your Google account.
  • Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. and Link, Ireland): payments, receipts and VAT as seller of record.
  • Railway Corp. (EU West region, Netherlands): hosts the licence server.
  • jsDelivr (global content network): delivers the open-source solver program code. It receives no spreadsheet data.

How we protect your data

  • Least access. Sheet Solver can only open the spreadsheet you are working in (spreadsheets.currentonly). It has no access to your Drive, Gmail or other files.
  • Your spreadsheet data never reaches us. The model is read and solved inside Google's Apps Script service and your own browser. Because we never receive it, it cannot leak from our systems.
  • Encrypted connections. All traffic between the add-on, our licence server and Stripe uses HTTPS (TLS).
  • Signed licences, no customer database. A licence key is a signed code, and the licence server checks it with a secret key. The server keeps no database of customers; Stripe holds the subscription records.
  • Limited access. Only AddonNordic's administrator can reach the licence server and the Stripe account. Secret keys are kept outside the code, and our Stripe key can only do what Sheet Solver needs.

How long we keep data and how to delete it

  • Spreadsheet data: we never store it. Your models are saved in your own spreadsheet and are deleted when you delete the tab or the file.
  • Plan and usage count: stored in your own Google account's private add-on storage. Click "Remove licence from this account" in the sidebar to clear your licence; uninstalling the add-on stops all access.
  • Request logs at our hosting provider: up to 30 days, then deleted automatically.
  • Pro sales records at Stripe: kept for 5 years after the subscription ends, because Danish bookkeeping law requires it.
  • If you ask us to delete your data, we do it within 30 days, except the sales records the law requires us to keep.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to its use: write to [email protected]. You can also complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet, datatilsynet.dk).

To remove Sheet Solver: in Google Sheets, open Extensions → Add-ons → Manage add-ons and remove it, then revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Changes

If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. If a change affects Pro subscribers, we tell them by email first.
